Photorejuvenation
If you dream of looking younger...
The passing of time and the stress carried along by modern society makes our skin look older. Logically these signs of skin aging and the skin damages caused by the sun are most visible in peoples’ faces. Even though there are already multiple methods to restore the different skin surface defects, from simple face creams to big operations, skin specialists have been looking for better methods involving smaller risks and shorter, or even no time off at all. In addition to it, conventional treatments do in general only fulfill one condition, and they often imply a longer healing process associated to significant pain and potential side-effects.
IPL – Photorejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment method that clears skin defects without damaging the skin surface and therefore without any „downtime“. Intense pulsed light (IPL) can simultaneously treat a wide range of skin problems in a safe and effective way, for example burst blood vessels, skin discolorations, freckles, pigmented areas and symptoms of rosacea.
What is intense pulsed light?
Intense pulsed light technology (IPL) is an innovative treatment method that corrects a lot of benign skin alterations, for example irregularities of the skin surface, aging spots, birthmarks, excessive hair growth, annoying visible little blood vessels and other defects. It offers a reliable, non invasive solution suitable for individual needs and skin types, thus leading to very good cosmetic results and an absolute satisfaction. This new procedure is called Photorejuvenation.
How is the Photorejuvenation procedure carried out?
In general, on the targeted surface a cooling gel is applied and the patient is given dark sunglasses to protect their eyes from the light. After the smooth surface of the IPLL-hand piece has been softly placed on the skin, the light impulses are activated. Some people describe feeling a light stitch, like the twitch caused by a fine rubber band. An anaesthetic skin cream can be applied, but it is seldom necessary. The complete treatment is applied in a series of sessions in order to achieve excellent long term results, minimal side-effects and a great satisfaction of the patients. Each session lasts approximately 20 minutes.
Why are multiple sessions necessary?
Depending on the difference and the seriousness of the individual problems, a series of five or six treatment sessions can be necessary. After each session, you can return to your regular activities. By distributing the complete program into different sessions, the procedure achieves a step by step improvement, while at the same time significantly or almost completely reducing risks and giving patients the so appreciated no downtime effect.

| Red spots due to burst blood vessels and brown pigment spots due to sun damages can be treated with the IPL-device. The light is converted into heat energy as soon as it reaches the area between collagen and the surface of the skin. |
How do other treatment methods compare with Photorejuvenation?
Since lasers exist, there are some that treat red spots, others that treat brown spots and even others responsible for removing or clearing out skin layers, but none of these technologies can achieve a long term improvement of taint and tissue, the way the IPL– Photorejuvenation- program does. And it does it without any interruption of your normal activities.
What kind of lesions can Photorejuvenation treat?
Big pores, a mat taint and other irregularities or abnormalities of your face skin can prevent you from feeling well and attractive, independently of your age and health condition. IPL – technology improves both the upper as well as the lower skin layers while generating comforting warmth energy to the deeper laying tissue. After a treatment session series, you will observe a significant reduction of the annoying pigmentation, as well as a smooth, revitalized skin appearance. The same treatment can be effectively applied to neck, décolleté and hands.
Benign vascular lesions:
damaged veins an blood vessels
The face is interwoven by an extensive grid of veins and tiny blood vessels called capillaries. With the passing of time, skin aging, traumata, excessive sunbathing and certain lifestyles, the capillaries break and they become apparent on the skin as red spots or lines. The IPL – therapy can remove the damaged veins and capillaries and practically all signs of these annoying skin defects.
Symptoms of Rosacea
Rosacea is an „oversupply“ that becomes apparent for the affected person as a chronic reddening due to extended blood vessels. Rosacea can also cause pimples and/or small blisters on the nose and cheeks. The IPL – technique can satisfactorily treat these extended blood vessels and thereby the consequent reddening for those men and women affected by this disorder, without damaging the surrounding healthy skin, whereas the intensity of the face
reddening is significantly reduced in the long run.
